Our Projects
Current and historical engagements in Czechia and Slovakia — road and rail tunnels, underground stations and civic buildings that put their traffic below ground.
Prague Airport Rail station and tunnels
CZPrague, Czech Republic
A tunnel and underground station project providing a direct, fast rail connection between Prague city centre and Václav Havel Airport, including an underground station and approximately 2 km and 0.6 km of tunnels, to improve capacity, travel times, and connectivity with the wider railway network.
The project includes a new underground railway station directly adjacent to the Václav Havel Airport terminals, together with connecting tunnel sections providing a direct rail link between the airport, Prague and Kladno.
Our scope
- Station & tunnel ventilation design
- Consultations on risk analysis and fire scenarios

Vltavská filharmonie
CZPrague, Czech Republic
Building a concert hall over a busy traffic artery means putting the traffic underground, and taking on the ventilation and risk questions that come with it.
The project integrates a new national music centre with a major transformation of the surrounding urban and transport infrastructure, including new public spaces, improved connections to metro and rail, and an underground road connection.
Our scope
- Ventilation assessment
- Risk analysis
Praha – Beroun rail tunnel
CZCzech Republic
Tunnel project to increase railway capacity and shorten travel times between Prague and Beroun, comprising 24.7 km of twin-bore tunnels (2 tubes).
The Praha–Beroun (Berounský) rail tunnel is a planned 24.7 km twin-bore railway tunnel forming the core of a new double-track line between Praha-Smíchov and Beroun, designed for speeds up to 200 km/h.
Our scope
- Peer review of Safety, Fire Life Safety and Ventilation
- Safety concept consultancy
D0 518 Ruzyně – Suchdol
CZPrague ring road, Czech Republic
A demanding stretch of the Prague ring: three tunnels — Horoměřice, Suchdol and Rybářka — crossing one another.
The project comprises three tunnel structures integrated into a new section of the Prague Ring Road, with the tunnel sections forming a significant part of the route through the surrounding urban and suburban areas.
Our scope
- Tunnel ventilation design

Plató Staromestská
SKBratislava, Slovak Republic
The project creates a new pedestrian and public space above the existing Staromestská Street, while maintaining full road traffic beneath the structure of one-side open gallery.
Plató Staromestská is an important urban transport facility designed to manage traffic flow in the city center. It serves as a key roadway section that helps alleviate congestion by directing vehicles efficiently through the historic Old Town area, improving overall accessibility and mobility in Bratislava.
Our scope
- Ventilation assessment
- Risk analysis

Standard for HSR cross sections / aerodynamics
CZCzech Republic
A technical document for railway infrastructure authorities, designers, and operators specifying standard cross-sections for single-track and double-track railway tunnels designed for speeds of up to 350 km/h.
The specification establishes a consistent design basis for high-speed railway tunnels, with particular emphasis on aerodynamic performance and the interaction between tunnel geometry and high-speed train operation.
Our scope
- Aerodynamic calculations
- General consultancy and support for developing the standard
Tunnel Višňové
SKD1 motorway, Slovak Republic
Longest motorway tunnel in operation in Slovakia — 7.5 km long, twin-tube tunnel with longitudinal ventilation.
A key section of the D1 motorway connecting Žilina and Martin, significantly reducing travel times and diverting transit traffic away from Žilina and the congested route under Strečno; at 7.5 km, it is Slovakia's longest motorway tunnel.
Our scope
- Design review of tunnel ventilation
Tunnel Ovčiarsko and Žilina
SKD1 motorway, Slovak Republic
The Žilina bypass features two standard twin-tube motorway tunnels measuring 2.4 km and 0.7 km in length, each designed with separate tubes for one-way traffic flow. Both tunnels utilize a longitudinal ventilation system to ensure effective air circulation and maintain safety for motorists.
These tunnels are crucial for improving traffic flow and safety on the Žilina bypass by separating opposing traffic directions and reducing congestion. They also facilitate efficient transport connections in the region, supporting economic growth and regional accessibility.
Our scope
- Design, control and acceptance tests of tunnel ventilation

Tunnel Svrčinovec and Poľana
SKD3 motorway, Slovak Republic
Tunnel Svrčinovec is a 420-meter-long single-tube motorway tunnel on the D3 motorway in the Slovak Republic. Tunnel Poľana is a 898-meter-long single-tube motorway tunnel, both equipped with modern safety and ventilation systems to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow.
These tunnels play a vital role in facilitating efficient and safe traffic flow between Slovakia and Poland, enhancing international connectivity and trade. The project includes dedicated escape galleries alongside the main tunnel tubes, offering a protected evacuation route separate from the traffic lanes to ensure passenger safety in emergencies.
Our scope
- Design, control and acceptance tests of tunnel ventilation

Bonn Bad Godesberg
DEBonn, Germany · on behalf of IP Engineering
Bad Godesberg is a significant urban road tunnel integrated into the B9 corridor, facilitating efficient traffic flow through the city of Bonn, Germany. This tunnel helps to reduce surface congestion by providing a direct underground route, improving connectivity and urban mobility in the region.
The tunnel was constructed beneath dense urban development, railway infrastructure and an existing light-rail tunnel, requiring complex underground construction in constrained conditions.
Our scope
- Risk analysis
- Hot smoke tests
